Families – Special Guests with Special Requirements

A short city trip with the kids?

Let’s be honest, it’s a recipe for stress. But there is a city that you would like to visit with the family, and so you start planning your trip. To get there, you will probably travel by car, plane or train – but the real problem is finding a suitable hotel. Hotels in central city locations that welcome families – and, most importantly, fit a family budget – are few and far between. You can find either reasonably-priced family accommodation on the edge of town or very expensive hotels in the centre, which are not really suitable for children. We have now tackled this challenge by introducing special family rooms at all A&O HOTELS and HOSTELS.

What exactly can be expected in the category “family room”?

Family rooms are equipped with two beds for parents and one or two bunk beds for children, and of course with shower/WC and TV. In the new A&O Berlin Hauptbahnhof (opening in autumn 2010) we will also be offering two connected double rooms as family rooms for the first time. Here, the family will be able to stay together, but will have enough space to give parents and children some privacy.

Reductions for children at A&O

And the big attraction is that children up to the age of 17 stay in their parents’ room free of charge. You pay no more than the normal price for a double room in our hotel.

Cots for Babies

Cots are available for babies on request at all A&O HOTELS and HOSTELS. If you let us know that you require a cot when you book, it will be set up and waiting in your room when you arrive.

Children’s Play Areas

Free play areas equipped with toys, drawing boards, crayons, slides or Wendy houses are available for children in most of the A&O HOTELS and HOSTELS. They provide kids with an ideal, safe place to let off steam while their parents enjoy a drink at the bar, chat to other guests, or simply rest in the lobby – keeping an eye on the little ones as they do so.
