Front-End Web Developer

in the field of software and web development at our Berlin Mitte site 

Our goal is to provide customers with a functional website featuring the best possible booking technology - we are constantly removing barriers and adapting to new trends. 

A small team of creative and friendly people in the front-end and back-end area is currently working to constantly improve our booking technology, with new challenges every day.

Your tasks: 
• Design and realisation of exciting projects in cooperation with the marketing and development teams 
• Active participation in the continuous optimisation of our online booking technology 
• Further development of our website aohostels.com 
• Mastering everyday technical challenges faced by a European hotel chain 

Your profile: 
• Good to very good knowledge of HTML, CSS (Bootstrap), Sass, JavaScript (jQuery) 
• Very secure handling of PHP7 
• Good knowledge of MySQL 
• Pragmatic and goal-oriented approach 
• Open to new technologies and with a drive towards optimisation 
• Open-minded and communicative team player who takes the initiative 
• Basic knowledge of OOP and MVC experience frameworks

A&O HOTELS and HOSTELS has existed for 17 years. It has 35 Hostels in 23 cities already and is expanding.  A&O HOTELS and HOSTELS accommodation offers shared rooms in Hostels or double rooms in a 2-star Hotel at a very reasonable rate and are therefore is affordable to all.  Children under 18 years of age stay for free, which has made A&O very popular with families.

The individual A&O houses are standardized and receive support from our headquarters in Berlin in the following areas: reservation, call center, accounting, marketing and sales as well as input from our management.

For our A&O HOTEL and HOSTEL Prague we are looking for a





Before you run your own house independently you will undergo a 6 month management trainee in Berlin, Leipzig or Cologne. In this time you will be thoroughly prepared for your future role as hotelmanager. After a short period of time you will assigned your own areas of responsibility.

The introduction period is designed to give you an overview of as well as train you in all areas of operations which you will need to run your own house: reception, F&B, housekeeping and of course the crucial house director duties (e.g. human resources management, back office, business assessment etc.)


The introductory training will take place in our houses in Berlin, Leipzig or Cologne. You will then take charge of the A&O Prague after your management trainee!

Revenue Manager (m/f)

Such a sophisticated term as "revenue or yield management" simply means: establishing and providing the right price for a hotel room or hostel bed at the right time in the right city! 


  • Responsible for managing revenue and optimising yield
  • Ensuring the competitiveness of A&O establishments by means of a proactive pricing policy
  • Monitoring prices and optimising unused capacity
  • Planning, implementing and tracking tactical pricing initiatives for all market segments and sales channels, in collaboration with Sales & Marketing
  • Monitoring daily revenue developments and implementing appropriate actions
  • Analysing market and demand trends and developing optimisation strategies
  • Helping define the requirements and further develop our pricing tool



  • A degree in Economics, Statistics or comparable subject
  • Strong analytical, strategic and numerical skills
  • Experience of revenue / yield management or a related field
  • Willingness to assume project and revenue responsibility
  • Fluent written and spoken English
