As a cultural hotspot in the border triangle Germany-Belgium-Netherlands on the Eifel, the city impresses with its historical monument density. Above all, the World Heritage Site, the Aachen Cathedral, in which the German kings were crowned and Charlemagne found his last rest. Behind them are the Cathedral Treasury, the historic town hall, the Elisenbrunnen as well as the Couven Museum and the Casino Aachen. The visual flagship is the Kornelimünster district, which is also the starting point for the Eifelsteig hiking trail to Trier. Aachen pampers the whole nation with Aachener Printen, "Reisfladen", Zentis jams and hearty Sauerbraten, called "Öcher Suurbrödem".
