Defy the recession with a&o: Take a family vacation and save 25 percent

Berlin - Summer here and with it new services and offers from Berlin based hostel chain a&o. CMO Phillip Winter has announced 25% off stays of four nights or more in family and multi-bed room , booked until the end of August.
"We know how fast the vacation cash is strained straight of a family," he said. "In times of extremely rising prices a summer vacation becomes unaffordable for many - we want to make a time out possible."

Beside the summer special, a&o  is now offeringfurther innovations including free bed linen also being provided in multi-bed rooms, new in-hostel entertainment and voluntary CO2 compensation for direct bookings over our website.

More air in the vacation budget: 25 percent for families
"a&o is family," emphasises Winter, "families make up half of our guests in the summer and are therefore particularly close to our hearts." The offer is valid immediately for bookings until August 31 and from four nights in family and multi-bed rooms. The following properties are taking part in this promotion:
Bremen, Frankfurt Ostend and Galluswarte, Copenhagen Sydhavn and Nørrebro, Munich Hackerbrücke and Laim, Salzburg Wolfgang's, Stuttgart and Weimar.

Bed linen included - now also in all shared rooms
What is a matter of course for double and single rooms now also applies to all shared rooms - including classic 'dorms' where travellers can book a single bed. Until now, bed linen could be borrowed from the reception desk for a fee. From June, bed linen will generally be included for everyone. Winter: "This is a great service plus that we are happy to offer our guests - bed linen was already included in family rooms, and now single travelers in shared rooms will also benefit from the convenience." This is a particular benefit for international and young travellers. The additional costs are not added to the room rate.

Karaoke, sport, Sightseeing Tips - the a&o Event Manager provides for experiences
Entertainment guaranteed from the new a&o event manager. With karaoke in the lobby bar, broadcasts of major sporting events and the organisation of international cooking parties in the guest kitchens, a&o will soon offer varied in-house entertainment. And because sometimes there's just to much to squeeze into a stay, the a&o event manager will also help plan sightseeing and provide tips on local experiences in the areas of art, culture, shopping and gastronomy.

CO2: voluntary compensation for direct bookings
New from July 1: Guests booking their stay via the a&o website can make their own personal contribution to climate protection - for just 10 cents per person per night. The voluntary compensation 'cllimate option' will be included at the end of the booking process. The cost is so low due to a&o already drastically reducing carbon consumption per stay. "With currently only 3.73 Kg CO2 per a&o overnight stay, the emissions are already very low - our guests should also benefit from this, who can make their climate contribution with only ten cents," said Winter.

For bookings by club members, this voluntary climate contribution will soon be taken into account automatically.
