A&O shoots up Dortmund’s overnight stays substantially
With the opening of the hotel in 2011, the number of overnight stays for the entire city has grown possibly record-breaking.
A&O Dortmund Main Station has a market share of five percent in 2016; Dortmund Tourism registered 595,000 overnight stays throughout the whole year.
"Since A&O is represented with a budget hotel product in the Ruhr area, the city is constantly surpassing the number of guest arrivals every year! The growth of the destination is above average compared to the region itself. We also recognize the increased interest and confirm a much better occupancy rate," said Oliver Winter, General Manager of A&O.
Particularly individual travellers, who book online or book a room directly on the spot, determine the daily business.
In the future, the company will increasingly focus on group business, where it predicts still a lot of potential for study and school trips interested in the industrial culture of the Ruhr region.
