To support our legal team, based in Berlin headquarters, we are looking for YOU – Bachelor of Law / Master of Law, lawyer or attorney (m/f/d) at mid-level.

YOUR JOB

As legal counsel (mid-level) you will support the a&o team on regional and global level on a wide variety of legal tasks and projects.
Your scope of responsibility will include legal advice and support on different aspects of business law, M&A and real estate transactions, drafting and reviewing of contracts, monitoring legislative updates, handling of legal day-to-day work, including legal requests from various European jurisdictions, coordination of transactional work involving external legal advisors. Certain legal matters will require close collaboration with other departments. You will report to the General Counsel.
The ideal candidate has gathered first practical experience in the legal area (inhouse and/or law firm) in Europe or abroad.

 

YOUR PROFILE

Basic Requirements

  • Law degree (LL.B., J.D., or equivalent) from an accredited university in the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, Canada, or another common law jurisdiction (at bachelor’s or master’s or PhD level)
  • A minimum of 3–4 years of professional legal experience, ideally gained in one or more common law jurisdictions; additional experience will be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge and/or professional experience in corporate law or corporate finance is highly welcomed, ideally gained within both law firms and in-house roles
  • (Additional) Experience in other legal areas of business law is also a strong plus (e.g. real estate, commercial, labour law)

  • Open for further professional development, including willingness to accomplish tasks in new legal areas, and able to learn quickly and flexible on the job
  • Skilled at transforming (complex) legal concepts practical business solutions
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills in English
