Note:
Especially if you arrive with luggage, we recommend the public transport. Although the a&o Wien Stadthalle is only 900 meters away from the Westbahnhof subway station, the hilly city can really blow you away. Therefore, it is best to drive on the street or underground.
From Westbahnhof station:
On foot: Use one of the many exits to the Gürtel (one of Vienna's main arterial roads). Walk for about 15 minutes north. If you pass by the city library and the Lugner City shopping center, you are right. On the same side of the street, following the course of the street, you will find our a&o Wien Stadthalle.
By underground: At the Westbahnhof station, take the U3 and U6 lines. The U6 direction Floridsdorf brings you in only one station to Burggasse / Stadthalle. Take the exit Burggasse. Once outside, the shopping center Lugner City is on the left side. Between the subway station and Lugner City runs "der Gürtel". Follow this 200 meters, you will get directly to our a&o Wien Stadthalle.
From the Central Station (Hauptbahnhof):
Since 2012 there is the new Central Station in Vienna. If you arrive via this one, the easiest way is to take tram no. 18 towards Burggasse / Stadthalle. You drive about 20 minutes to the terminus of the same name, which is located in front of the city library in the middle of the "Gürtel". From there, just walk along the Gürtel, past the city library. Behind it is the Lugner City, and on the same side of the street, following the course of the Gürtel, our a&o Wien Stadthalle.
From Vienna International Busterminal (VIB):
Directly next to or above the VIB is the subway station Erdberg. With the U3 direction Ottakring you reach the station Westbahnhof in about 20 minutes. There take the line U6 direction Floridsdorf. After only one stop you arrive at the station Burggasse / Stadthalle. There is the shopping center Lugner City. Follow the course of the street (Gürtel) between the shopping center and the underground station until you can see our a&o Wien Stadthalle.
From Vienna-Schwechat Airport:
From Schwechat airport you can take bus 1187 in the direction of Westbahnhof. Alternatives are the CAT (City Airport Train) and the S-Bahn S7 to Wien Mitte. From there the U3 takes you to the Westbahnhof. Get off at the Westbahnhof in the U6 direction Foridsdorf, with which you reach the Burggasse / Stadthalle after only one stop. Take the exit Burggasse. Once outside, the shopping center of Lugner City is on the left side. Between the subway station and Lugner City runs the "Gürtel". Follow this for about 200 meters until you reach our a&o hostel Wien Stadthalle.
