Get the day off to a good start: catering during the study trip
You and your students will experience a lot on a study trip. We offer you a wide range of culinary delights so that you are properly fortified for the varied cultural and sightseeing programme:
Breakfast: Our all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet is included for groups of at least ten people. The selection ranges from various cereals, fresh bread rolls and cold cuts to quark, yoghurt and fruit. Of course, various hot and cold drinks are also included.
Packed lunches:If required, you can book packed lunches for you and your school class in advance, which are extremely practical for travelling to save time and money for lunch together.
Lunch and dinner: Whether at lunchtime or in the evening – if you don't want to go to a restaurant, then you can also select lunch and/or dinner for your class for an additional charge.
Guest kitchens: Those who prefer to cook for themselves have the option of using our guest kitchens during the study trip. These offer space for four to ten people and have everything a hobby chef's heart desires.
Special requests: If you or your students have an allergy or food intolerance or prefer a vegan or vegetarian diet, please send us any special requests at least seven days before the start of the study trip. This can be done simply and easily by e-mail, stating the booking number.
Packing your bags for the study trip: room facilities
If you are travelling as a group, you can choose between the hotel and hostel categories at a&o. Bed linen and towels are already provided in all single and double rooms. If you are booking a study trip and the students are staying in shared rooms with bunk beds, bed linen and sheets can be rented at reception for a current price of 4.15 euros. Each towel also costs an additional 1.80 euros to borrow. These items are also available in almost all a&o hostels:
- Shower gel and shampoo
- Cosmetic tissues and toilet paper
- Hair dryer and soap dispenser
Other cosmetic items, including toothbrushes, deodorant and more, are available in the a&o hygiene store.
A sense of community during the study trip
Our hostels bring you and your class together, whether in our meeting rooms or at the karaoke bar. To strengthen the sense of community during the study trip, both during the day and in the evening, the following rooms are available to you:
Meeting rooms: In our meeting rooms, which can be used free of charge, you have the opportunity to get together before an eventful day and discuss the exact programme as well as individual intermediate stops. If you are planning lectures, lessons or a longer meeting, our staff will be happy to prepare catering for an additional charge.
Common rooms: Almost all of our hostels offer you and your students the opportunity to sit together and round off an eventful day on a study trip. And that's best done over a game of table football or billiards or watching a film together, isn't it?
24-hour bar: Every a&o hostel has a hotel bar that is open around the clock for our guests. Depending on the location, additional bars are also available on the roof terrace or in the basement. Here you and other accompanying persons can end the day with a sundowner. We use age verification wristbands to ensure that alcohol is not served to underage guests under any circumstances.
