We regularly have ourselves tested and certified by external certification bodies. This enables us to guarantee you an above-average standard in the industry. The quality standard has been tested and certified by the following institutions:

TÜV

a&o has been tested annually by TÜV Rheinland since 2007 according to the „Youth Hostel Quality Standard“. This procedure checks whether the „youth hotel“ offering has been implemented in a youth-appropriate manner. From the customer's perspective, it is examined whether certain standards have been met, such as cleanliness in the rooms, hygiene in the bathrooms, breakfast or the competence and friendliness of the staff.

Furthermore, it is checked whether optimal organisation and consistent quality of internal processes are given, but also whether youth protection regulations are complied with.

We have fulfilled all criteria to satisfaction and were therefore certified with the quality seal „Youth Hostel Quality Standard“.

Reisenetz

Reisenetz is a German professional association for youth travel. The association awarded the Reisenetz seal “tested quality“ to a&o Hostels, which is the first and only accommodation chain to have been honoured with this seal.

Bundesforum Kinder- und Jugendreisen e. V.

The Bundesforum for Children's and Youth Travel has its own testing system – the QMJ (Quality Management Youth Travel). This test seal provides information about defined standards and awards stars according to these, similar to the DEHOGA association. The German a&o Hostels were certified with 4 out of 5 possible stars.
