Just 500 meters from the Central Station, you can easily reach public transport within a 5-minute walk from our a&o hostel Salzburg Hauptbahnhof or you can explore the city on foot. In addition, you have the small shopping center FORUM 1 right next door – if you still want to equip, before it goes into the old town.

Numerous sights of Salzburg, such as the Parish Church of Salzburg-St. Elisabeth and Salzburg's old town, are located in the immediate vicinity. Therefore, the a&o Salzburg Hauptbahnhof is the perfect starting point for your sightseeing tours.

From the Central Station (Hauptbahnhof):

From the central station it takes you only 6 minutes.If you get out of the building walk right and then directly to the left to Südtiroler Platz. After about 130 meters turn right onto Fanny-von-Lehnert-Straße. From there it takes you just 300 meters until you can see the a&o Salzburg Hauptbahnhof on the left-hand side.

 
From the bus station:

The long-distance buses stop in Salzburg on the east side of the Central Station. So you do not get lost, we advise you to first find your way to the Central Station. Go through the building to the other side, exit Südtiroler Platz. When you come out of the station building, you are directly on the Südtiroler Platz. Keep right, past the FORUM 1. After about 130 meters turn right onto Fanny-von-Lehnert-Straße. Then it is only 300 meters, until on the right side the a&o Salzburg Hauptbahnhof appears.

 
From Salzburg Airport:

You can take the trolleybus 2 direction Salzburg Obergnigl. After a 19-minute drive you arrive at the Central Station. From there you can walk the path.
Alternatively, take trolleybus 10 towards Sam Lankessiedlung. Get off at the Salzburg Airport Kröbenfeldstraße stop and then change to the regional bus 180 in the direction of Salzburg Hauptbahnhof. When you come out of the station building, you are directly on Südtiroler Platz. Keep right, past the FORUM 1. After about 130 meters turn right onto Fanny-Lehnert-Straße. Then it is only 300 meters, until on the right side the a&o Salzburg Hauptbahnhof appears.

Prices at a&o depend on availability. The fewer beds available in a room category, the higher the prices; when occupancy is low, they automatically decrease. Basically, this means for guests: The earlier you book, the cheaper it is. On the other hand, last-minute travelers can usually continue to take advantage of great last-minute offers - of course, only as long as the relevant category is available.

How are the rooms at a&o equipped?

All room categories offer modern hotel standard with private bathroom and free WiFi. As a rule, each room also has a TV. Single, double and family rooms include bed linen and towels. Family rooms consist of a double bed and one or two bunk beds. Dorm rooms have four to eight beds. Bed linen can be brought or reserved for a small additional fee. All bathrooms are standard equipped with shower/WC, 2-in-1 shower gel, hair dryer and cosmetic tissues.

Can I stay with a dog/pet at a&o?

At a&o, a maximum of two dogs or pets can be taken without any problems in single or double rooms - for an additional fee of 13 euros per animal and night. The animals should just not be too large or exotic.

Can I cook for myself at a&o?

Cooking for yourself is not a problem at a&o. Most a&os offer a well-equipped guest kitchen. Which hostels have a guest kitchen is noted on the respective hostel website and in the booking confirmation.

Are there cribs at a&o?

Each hostel has cribs that can be borrowed free of charge. When booking online, simply note this in the notes field. The room will be prepared accordingly.
