a&o Hamburg Hauptbahnhof is of typical Hanseatic architecture with a red brick façade that seamlessly fits into the cityscape. In addition to the modern rooms and being centrally located, a&o Hamburg Hauptbahnhof also offers a 24hour bar!

Directions

From the Central Station (Hauptbahnhof):

On foot: Leave the Central Station at the exit Spitaler Straße and walk to the left until Deichtorplatz / Deichtorhallen. Cross the street (important!) and turn left walking under the bridge. After the bridge you can see a&o Hamburg Hauptbahnhof on the other side of the street. The main station is a 500 meters walk away from our hotel.

By U-Bahn: Take the U1 from the Central Station one stop to Steinstraße. Leave the station in the direction of the subway. Therefore, it is best to climb the front. Arrived, go left up the stairs, which leads you to the intersection Amsinckstraße / Klosterwall. Cross the Amsinckstraße and follow it in the course of the traffic. Go through the underpass until you see the a&o on the right side of the street.

 
From the Central Bus Station (ZOB):

The easiest way leads through the district. Since you can easily get lost in the winding streets, we recommend a small detour on the main roads. At the central bus station, turn left into the Adenauerallee. Cross the Steintorplatz across from the Museum of Arts and Crafts and continue past the Steintordamm at the Central Station until you arrive at Steintorwall. Turn left here towards Süssen and walk straight for about 10 minutes. Your destination is the Deichtorplatz, which is hardly overlooked thanks to the large area and the Deichtorhallen. On the other side of the square you can already see the Speicherstadt. In the Deichtorplatz opens the Amsinckstraße. Be sure to cross over here and follow it on the right side eastwards under the station bridge. Then you should recognize our a&o hostel.

 
From Hamburg Airport:

Take the S-Bahn S1 direction Wedel / Holst to the Central Station. The line runs every 10 minutes and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Leave the main station at the exit Spitaler Straße and after a left turn follow the Steintorwall to Deichtorplatz / Deichtorhallen. Cross the street and turn left into Amsinckstraße. Go through the underpass until you see the a&o on the right side of the street.

Prices at a&o depend on availability. The fewer beds available in a room category, the higher the prices; when occupancy is low, they automatically decrease. Basically, this means for guests: The earlier you book, the cheaper it is. On the other hand, last-minute travelers can usually continue to take advantage of great last-minute offers - of course, only as long as the relevant category is available.

How are the rooms at a&o equipped?

All room categories offer modern hotel standard with private bathroom and free WiFi. As a rule, each room also has a TV. Single, double and family rooms include bed linen and towels. Family rooms consist of a double bed and one or two bunk beds. Dorm rooms have four to eight beds. Bed linen can be brought or reserved for a small additional fee. All bathrooms are standard equipped with shower/WC, 2-in-1 shower gel, hair dryer and cosmetic tissues.

Can I stay with a dog/pet at a&o?

At a&o, a maximum of two dogs or pets can be taken without any problems in single or double rooms - for an additional fee of 13 euros per animal and night. The animals should just not be too large or exotic.

Can I cook for myself at a&o?

Cooking for yourself is not a problem at a&o. Most a&os offer a well-equipped guest kitchen. Which hostels have a guest kitchen is noted on the respective hostel website and in the booking confirmation.

Are there cribs at a&o?

Each hostel has cribs that can be borrowed free of charge. When booking online, simply note this in the notes field. The room will be prepared accordingly.
